There are various attractions for the children, such as Plopsaland and Boudewijnpark. And when the weather is bad you can always visit a museum, such as the Abbey museum, in Ten Duinen. A fun way to discover the Belgian coast is to cycle (part of) the Coastal cycling route. This route runs from De Panne to Knokke-Heist and is 86 km long. Or you take the Coast Tram. This stops in all resorts between De Panne and Knokke-Heist. Remember to visit the unique nature reserve Het Zwin.

Bruges is located in the Bruges Ommeland, the “Venice of the North”, is a beautiful medieval city full of charm. The historic centre has been added to the list of Unesco world heritage sites. From a cottage in West Flanders or in the centre of Bruges, you can stroll through its cobbled streets, make a boat trip on its canals and discover the monuments and sights such as The Belfry, the City Hall, the Fish Market, the Beguinage and the romantic ‘Minnewater’ (Lake of Love).

The Westhoek is famous as the Flanders Field Country, it was one of the battlefields of the first world war. You will find here many monuments in remembrance, and many military graveyards, and for example the ‘Dodengang’ in Diksmuide. There is even a ‘Flanders Fields’ motorway. Remember to visit historical Ypres too.
