Colourful, linked cottage (on 3 floors) on the island Sardinia, between Sassari and Alghero, along the north-westside of the island. The accomodation is in the town Uri, from where the coast can be reached within 25 minutes drive (Costa del Corallo and Lido di Alghero). Within approx. 200-300 metres lies various little shops and a little lake (Lago del Cuga) where you can drive around, under a wonderful Mediterranean sun. Close by Alghero (within 18km) you will find among others an airport (Aeroporto di Fertilia).
Uri is an ideal accomodation to spend a peaceful holiday in Sardinia with the possibility to reach the beaches as well.

For the folklore and popular tradition lovers, we bring to notice the "SAGRA DEL CARCIOFO" (The artichoke festival) to be held at URI normally on the second week-end of march and, the CAVALCATA SARDA ( SARDINIAN COSTUME PARADE) on the third week-end of may at SASSARI.
The artichoke festival of URI, comes down to a country fair where typical food stuff can be bought and above all local artichoke dishes are sampled at various food stalls or restaurants.
Most of the artichokes that end up on the italian and foreign tables, from november to february, come from this land.At the end of the day, traditional music and dances will cheer up the evening.
The cavalcata sarda at Sassari, brings together all costumes of Sardinia (most beautiful are the ladies made of
local fabrics embroidered with gold and silver).
They parade through the city streets on foot or on horse all morning. In the afternoon, et the race course, the boys will try to impress you with their skills mounting horses of anglo-arab-sardinian race and while standing on the horse back they will push them to a wild and unbridled run that will arise applause from the public.
For the Holy Week, before Easter, at Alghero we suggest the religious events, with procesions, prayers and other manifestations of christian piety of catalan origin that have great impact on foreign visitors.
Last but not least, during January-February sampling sea urchings at especially set up food stalls of Alghero harbour.

Very recommendable. Nice little house, with space and accomodation enough. Well equiped, 3 bathrooms, fresh inside although it was 37 degrees outside. Very friendly owners on-site, well explaining the places to visit. Not so far from Porto Torres, for those taking the car ferry from Genova (i.e. no need to get up early when leaving back home). Not so far from the beaches (20 minutes), and Sardinia is very enjoyable to drive around (we visited vineyards, old little cities of Bosa and Alghero, the small port of Stintino, etc.)
My wife, children and myself were extremely satisfied.
