You will find Domaine de Bellac far from today's industrial noise and pollution. Named after an earlier chateau (castle), this country estate is surrounded by lovely green hills, forests and abundant lakes. The current Bellac was constructed on the historic foundations of the old chateau and its outbuildings. Several ruins on the property are a reminder of times past. You have a view of a valley where the Dordogne and Charente departments meet. This pristine natural area is the perfect place to catch your breath and escape from the daily grind. The 35-hectare estate contains seven luxurious cottages with a unique French character. After soaking up some sunshine, you can cool off in the attractively situated swimming pool and its covered relaxation area.
Domaine de Bellac is centrally located in an area with beautiful hiking and mountain biking trails that are sure to delight any outdoor enthusiast.
In the surrounding area you will find restaurants that offer affordable dining in a lovely setting. The markets, the romantic French villages and the freshwater lakes and rivers also make this region a wonderful holiday destination. There are plenty of relaxation options for visitors of all ages.
Golfers will be in their element at Golf de la Prèze, an 18-hole course located just one kilometre away that has a reputation for being quite a challenge. Na een week van onze vakantie aan zee te hebben doorgebracht, gingen we door naar Roussines waar we een week in het appartement ‘La Bellecour’ verbleven. Wij werden bij aankomst door de gastheer opgewacht en hij liet ons het appartement en alle voorzieningen eromheen zien. Wij verbleven in wat vroeger de varkensstal was. Op het hele terrein is voelbaar dat de geschiedenis nog aanwezig is. We zagen een beetje tegen de warmte op, het zou rond de 40 graden worden. Maar wat was het fijn! Het appartement gaf voldoende verkoeling, was zeer ruim en sfeervol ingericht. De bedden waren opgemaakt en er lagen schone handdoeken, theedoek en keukenhanddoek. De keuken was volledig ingericht qua benodigdheden. Het gezin verblijft zelf ook op het terrein en houdt alles (op de achtergrond) draaiende. In de omgeving is voldoende te bezoeken en te bezichtigen. Elke dag een paar duiken in het zwembad (die schoon was en goed onderhouden) gaven voldoende verkoeling om in een warme week hier te verblijven. Het was een week waarin we helemaal tot rust waren gekomen en hebben genoten van de gastvrijheid. Wij komen hier zeker terug om nog meer van de omgeving te kunnen zien en te genieten van een echt vakantiegevoel!!
