The sea is 18 kilometres away, a 20-minute drive through the scenic landscape of Småland, with it's beautiful forests and open landscapes. You have good chances of spotting elk, deer, and fox. The forests are rife with berries and mushrooms and there are a number of pretty lakes in the area. The closest grocery store is in Odensvi, five kilometres from the house. The picturesque town of Västervik offers a shopping centre and many different events in the summertime. It's 46 kilometres away. Vimmerby is only 35 kilometres away. The children will really enjoy Astrid Lindgren's World. Katthult and Bullerbyn, well known from Astrid Lindgren's beloved children's books, are also close. Or why not take a daytrip to Mariannelund and find out how sweets were made in the olden days? The Kingdom of Crystal, Glasriket, is another interesting destination.
