The Eagle Mountains are also known as Orlické Hory - this mountain range is about 20km long and 10km wide and lies in the far east of the Bohemian region. In the north, it borders on Poland.
This picturesque winter sports region is ideal for a family winter sports holiday, thanks to the small-scale winter sports resorts. The rolling nature of this area makes it very suitable for cross-county skiing, both for beginners and the advanced. It is also superb for walking.
Detné is the most important ski centre, followed by Øíèky and Èenkovice. In Detné bobsleighing championships are held regularly, and the ski resort has good connections to footpaths and ski routes. Thanks to its excellent location, in Øíèky you will find the best quality slopes and snow conditions. Here, the annual Ski-Intercritium (an international skiing competition for pupils) is also held. Cenkovice offers wide slopes for beginners and intermediate skiers, a snowboard park, and fantastic cross-country ski routes. You are straight on the slopes from your cottage to make the most beautiful descents.
The three areas mentioned here also offer all sorts of additional facilities, including snow canons, ski schools, childrens ski school, ski hire, currency exchange, restaurants, sauna or indoor pool, cross-country loipes, and night skiing. If you are looking for a small, quiet ski resort with one or two lifts, book a cottage in Mladkov, Bartoovice, Orlické Záhoøí, or Zdobnice.
