Winter sports holiday with a group

The best slopes, beautiful views and being together are all elements of a great group winter sports holiday. During your group holiday, there is nothing better than enjoying the well-prepared slopes, a wonderful holiday home and fun activities together. However, it is sometimes quite difficult to find the right holiday home and the right winter sports area. But whether you choose a large or small ski resort, there is usually something for everyone.

Which ski area will you choose?

The ski resorts in Germany, France, Switzerland and Austria really do have all the elements to make your winter sports holiday unforgettable. Most areas have blue, red and black slopes, so everyone in the group can ski to their heart's content. Families with children can enjoy themselves in the child-friendly ski areas.

The choice of the ski area is entirely dependent on the group you are travelling with. If you are going on holiday with the whole family, then the wish list will be very long. For children, it is nice to have a ski school and kids' area, for grandparents there must be beautiful winter walks and for the young people and parents, it's important to have well-prepared pistes. Don't worry, there's always plenty to do in every ski resort.

The large French ski resorts, such as Paradiski, offer something for everyone. In total, this area offers 425 kilometres of slopes, with a good mix of blue, red and black runs. There are also several children's areas and ski schools for little snow lovers. The French resorts are not known for their extensive walking networks, but in many areas, you can enjoy a brisk winter walk.

If you are travelling with a group of friends, then the requirements are completely different. A good place to stay, nice slopes and excellent après-ski, are enough to make a group winter sports holiday unforgettable. The Austrian ski areas are perfect for a wonderful group holiday. If you are staying in the Zillertal, then Gerlos and Mayrhofen are highly recommended for fun partying.

As well as the ski resorts of Austria and France, the German resorts are also great places to stay. Winterberg is the ideal base if you want to take a break with your family or a group of friends. The area is a relatively short distance from the Netherlands, so you will be on the slopes in no time.

A chalet or a group house?

When you go on holiday with a large group, then it's great if you can stay in one chalet or group house. On the Belvilla website, you will find lots of group houses that offer something for everyone. There are group houses in the middle of the ski resort, and also on the edge of the ski village.

Each ski resort has different group houses, which have a lot to offer for families with children as well as groups of friends. How about a holiday home with three, four or even five bedrooms? Or a holiday home with several bathrooms? You can certainly find this in Austria or France. Some group houses are even located directly at the bottom of the ski resort so you can quickly take the lift up. If you prefer to stay a little further from the ski resort, you can use the free ski buses, which drive up and down through the villages.

If you are going on a winter sports holiday with children, it's important that they also have their own bed. Some chalets are equipped with cots, highchairs and playpens. A recommendation is to opt for a detached holiday home so the children can enjoy playing in the snow around the house. After a day's skiing, there is nothing better than relaxing the muscles for a while. In the vicinity of the ski resorts in Austria and France, there are several wellness centres where you can go swimming or enjoy a wonderful massage. It is also possible to choose a holiday home that has all these facilities too. There's nothing better than having a sauna or jacuzzi in your own holiday home, is there?

For a group of friends, it can be important to have a good après-ski bar nearby. So, it's a good idea to choose a large group house in Austria. In many Austrian ski villages, the party starts in the early afternoon on the slopes. In the evening, the skiers descend to the village to paint the town red until the early hours.

Winter sports for everyone

When you're on holiday with a large group of friends or family, it's all about fun. During your holiday, you don't just have to ski or snowboard because the ski resorts offer plenty of activities. You can go tobogganing, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing. Let the group winter sports holiday begin.

Almost all ski areas have different activities, which are fun for both young and old. How about a tobogganing competition or going sledging? Who can get down the mountain the quickest, and of course the safest? Almost all ski resorts have one or more toboggan runs. In the Wilkogel Arena in Austria, you will even find the longest toboggan run in the world. This 14-kilometre-long course takes you down the mountain through beautiful winter scenery. Because this run is so long, it is mainly suitable for young people and adults. Don't worry. If you are on holiday with children, there are several children's runs in the ski resorts in Austria, France and Germany. In the evening, some of the runs are even floodlit, which makes the descent that extra bit more exciting.

If you prefer to spend the whole day skiing, then the kids can go to the children's area. Here, little snow lovers are entertained with fun winter games, and in some places they can even learn to master their first skiing moves. If you want to take your children to France on a winter sports holiday, choose a ski resort with the 'Family Plus' label. These resorts really do have all aspects covered for families with children.

Austria's ski resorts are known for their excellent cross-country skiing and hiking trails. The trails are often scattered throughout the area, so you can enjoy yourself all day long. Of course you can also explore the area on real snowshoes. During beautiful walks through the snowy mountain landscape, you can enjoy exceptional panoramic views.

For young people, there is nothing better than relaxing in an après-ski bar after skiing. The ski resorts of Val Thorens and Zillertal Arena are highly recommended for this. You can hear the best music playing until late in the evening, . It's so much fun.
