With its 322 kilometers of ski slopes, Breuil-Cervinia has developed as a major ski resort in Italy. From Breuil-Cervinia you have a magnificent view of the Matterhorn and Monte Rosa. It is also one of the most beautiful places in the Alps. You can see for miles over the beautiful snowfields and rocks.
For skiers there are unlimited possibilities: long, wide slopes with altitudes of up to 3800 meters. At those heights you have a beautiful view of the mountains of the Matterhorn. And because the slopes are so wide, you are hardly bothered by other winter sports enthusiasts. Besides skiing, there is also a lot of snowboarding. There is also a fun park: the Indian Park. Here are several glides and halfpipes.
In Breuil-Cervinia you can not only enjoy the snow, the village is also located on the sunny side of the Matterhorn. After a day of skiing you can sit in the sun on a terrace.
Breuil-Cervinia is located on the south side of the Matterhorn. This 4478 meter high mountain is difficult to climb due to its pyramid shape. Next to the 'big' Matterhorn is the Klein-Matterhorn. From here you have a great view of the big mountain and it is possible to ski from the small mountain.
On the other side of the Matterhorn is the Zermatt ski area, also known as the "Swiss side" of the mountain. Together with the Valtournenche valley, Breuil-Cervinia has a network of no less than 360 kilometers of interconnected ski areas in the Alps. So you can go from Italy to Switzerland from one moment to the next.
Fortunately, this large ski area remains open for a long time: from November to May. In addition, you also have a summer ski area on the Kleine Matterhorn, which remains open all year round.
Breuil-Cervinia is a pleasant village with the car-free main street: Via Carrel. This street is the beating heart of the village with its souvenir shops, ski shops, butchers, bakers, nice restaurants and bars.
Après-ski in Breuil-Cervinia is very different from the way we know it. We understand après-ski parties and drinks. While in this village an extensive lunch and the rest of the afternoon sitting in the sun on the terrace falls under après-ski. On the other hand, there are plenty of bars to have a drink and a dance in the evening.
What else can you do after skiing? After a day of exertion you can relax in the spa with sauna, sunbeds and massages or in your own holiday home with wellness. With the children it is nice to visit the indoor swimming pool. Instead of skiing, you can also skate for a few hours on the ice rink in the village. Need a little more challenge? Then you can try your hand at paragliding, or jump on the back of a dog sled and take a cool trip through the Italian mountains.
