Costa Cálida

The coast of Murcia, the Costa Cálida, stretches over more than 250 kilometres and is an ideal very comfortable holiday destination due to its mild winter climate (± 18°C and no less than 315 days of sunshine every year). Discover from your cottage on the Costa Cálida the impressive cliffs and steep rock faces that separate the long sandy beaches and the secluded bays with clear azure water. Along this coast there are also picturesque fishing villages and seaside resorts such as La Manga del Mar Menor and Mazarrón.

Water sports opportunities from your cottage on the Costa Cálida

The tourist resort of La Manga del Mar Menor is located between two seas, the calm ‘inland sea’ of Mar Menor and the Mediterranean. Mar Menor is ideal for tourists and offers a charming atmosphere and many water sports opportunities. You can go wind surfing, catamaran sailing, water skiing, and diving here.

Mazorrón; well worth a visit!

Mazarrón is a touristic centre with a mining history – if you travel inland, you will see the remains of the deserted mining industry. It also has a fishing tradition, still visible in the harbour and the fish market. There is plenty to see and do. There are many interesting buildings in the city, and the ‘Bolnuevo’ are also well worth a visit. Erosion has created all sorts of extraordinary shapes in the white sandstone. Along the beaches you can indulge in various water sports, such as diving, parasailing, and water skiing. Take your bathing gear from your cottage.

Costa Cálida; green holiday homes

But there is lots more to do and see in this region. Along the coast, you will find a number of Regional Parks, which you can explore by bike, on foot, or sometimes even on horseback. Visit the following parks from your cottage on the Costa Cálida ; the ‘Parque Regional de las Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar’ is a wetland, where flocks of flamingos pause at the end of summer on their way to North-Africa. Part of the park is accessible – you can cycle or walk across an area of dunes, pine forests and sandy beaches. Parque Regional de Calblanque is an unspoilt part of the coast and offers dunes, beaches and plateaus. The holiday homes on the Costa Cálida are perfect to discover this region and provide a pleasant change from the beach.
