Ibiza

Cottages in Ibiza

Ibiza is an island belonging to the Spanish Balearic islands. The Balearics are located east of the Spanish mainland in the Mediterranean Sea. With Formentera, Ibiza is the most southern island of the group and these two islands are at approximately 7 km from each other. The islands are also called the pine tree islands and Ibiza's nickname is ‘Isla Blanca’, because of its many white houses. The island is 41 km long and 20km wide with a coastline of 120km. You will find more than 50 beaches here where you can worship the sun for hours on end. Book a holiday home in Ibiza if you are a sun worshipper. The high season runs from end May to early October, and it really gets busy here

Varied landscapes with holiday homes for everyone

The mountain range Els Amunts defines the landscape. The highest mountain on Ibiza is the 475m high Sa Talaia. The main ones are the bay of Eivissa and the bay of Portmany where you will also see the main harbours of Ibiza. The stalactite caves are striking sights on Ibiza. The most famous are Santa Cova, Es Cuieram and the magnificent Cova den Can Marça in particular. You could also book a holiday home in the woods, as pine- and leafy woods, farmland and orchards have been cultivated on Ibiza over the last two thousand years. The inland is protected by dunes in certain places The coast is also dotted with coves or ‘calas’, where you will mostly find sandy beaches, the longest one on Ibiza being the Platja d’en Bossa.

For the city dweller, Ibiza-town is the place to be!

Have you enjoyed the beach enough and do you want to discover the city? You should definitely visit Ibiza-town. With a lively nightlife, exclusive fashion boutiques and many restaurants, the city has a lot to offer to the real epicureans. The old city centre is located at the harbour, where you will also find an impressive cathedral and a huge castle. These monuments define the cityscape. You will encounter many shops while strolling through the narrow streets and along city houses. And every terrace gives you the opportunity to watch the extravagant and hip visitors to Ibiza. Take the time to walk along the Carrer Major, the high street of the city.
