The capital city of Bregenz is situated on Lake Constanz and attracts many visitors in July and August due to the Bregenzer Festspiele (a music festival), with the world’s largest floating stage. The city has a historical centre (called the ‘Oberstadt’). The Unterstadt (downtown), on the other hand, is the modern part of the city, with the boulevard. You can take a boat trip on the lake, and cycling routes have been mapped out around the lake. You can also take the funicular to the top of Mount Pfänder, where you’ll have a great view of the city and the lake.
