A beach holiday in Abruzzo, for the ultimate in enjoyment

From your holiday home in Abruzzo, a day at the beach on the Adriatic coast is never far. The beaches in Abruzzo have not yet been discovered by masses of tourists, and are mainly visited by the local Italian population. The coastal area around Pescara during a hot summer day is a wonderful place to be. Yet, thanks to its sheltered location, the climate in Abruzzo is mild. The total Abruzzo coastline covers about 133 kilometres with beautiful small pebble beaches at the edge of the forest, as well as extensive sandy beaches. The 'trabocchi', small wooden fishing cabins by the sea, are characteristic of the region. Some 'trabocchi' have been converted into restaurants, so you can experience the real fisherman's feeling during a dinner at sea. The Costa dei trabocchi owes its name to the traditional fishing installations. This part of the coast is also a lot rougher than the rest of Abruzzo, with alternating sand and pebble beaches and rocky coast.

Abruzzo is a paradise for nature lovers and a popular destination for nature trips and hiking holidays. Experience an unforgettable holiday in this Italian region, and rent a chalet, villa, winter sports chalet or a holiday home in Abruzzo.
