On and along the wide beach you can sunbathe, kite flying, volleyball, sailing, surfing, etc. At low tide, hikers head towards the Belgian border to the vast nature reserve of the Zwin. In the Zwingeul, the whole family can search the sand for shark teeth that are often millions of years old. But Cadzand is so much more than sea and beach. The vast dunes and the polders of the hinterland are perfect for a walk or bike ride. Everywhere, you will find well-maintained cycling and walking paths. These will lead you to picturesque villages, but also through vast landscapes with polders and creeks. There are several places where you can rent an excellent custom-made bike. There you will discover a local interior from around 1850, with dolls in traditional costume. This will give you a good idea of how people lived here at the time.

Salt marshes and mud flats, quays and dikes refer to this rich past. The Island of Cadzand, one of the oldest European polder landscapes, is still recognisable today. The historic Bruges, Ghent (described by the former French president Mitterrand as the best kept secret in Europe) and Sluis invite you to visit them. Families with children can visit the amazing underwater world of the Sealife Center in Blankenberge, or go to the Arsenal amusement park in Vlissingen.

You can make a trip along the beach in a rented electric golf car (an unforgettable experience), at the entrance of the village you can visit the windmill Nooit Gedacht or admire the monument of the World Peace Flame project. This symbol of every human being's desire for peace is not a coincidence, but precisely because the region has suffered from war violence for centuries. Throughout the year, but especially in the summer months, there are markets in Cadzand itself and in the surrounding villages. Are you sporty? Even then, the possibilities are endless.
