"Former monastery house, a stone house on the north coast of Crete overlooking the bay and the hamlet of Elounda, just 15 minutes walk from the beach. The rustic holiday home is located in the village of Mavrikiano. The apartment has been carefully renovated and the stone walls with arches create a unique atmosphere. From the terrace you have a magnificent view of the Gulf of Mirabello and Elounda. Thanks to the existing outdoor kitchen, you can comfortably eat together here.
The sandy beach and the village of Elounda are around 15 minutes away (approx. 1 km). Elounda is located on the Mirabello Gulf and offers a beautiful coastline with sandy and rocky beaches and nature with almond and olive trees. Excursion boats depart from Elounda for the island of Spinalonga with its impressive Venetian fort.
This area also offers many opportunities for hikers, for example a coastal walk from Elounda to Placa (approx. 5 km). It is around 75 km to Heraklion Airport.

Das Haus, das wir gebucht und bezahlt haben gibt es so nicht. Die Fotos in der Anzeige sind ein „best off“ verschiedener Häuser, die der Vermieter anbietet. Vor Ort ist nur ein „Hausmeister“ der vorgibt nur Griechisch zu sprechen. Wir haben auf unserer Buchung bestanden und mit viel Verhandlungsgeschick erreicht, dass wir nach einer Nacht in einer Ersatzunterkunft ein Haus beziehen konnten, das in etwa der Beschreibung entspricht. Das hat uns einen Urlaubstag gekostet. Zwischendrin wurde uns sogar gedroht die Buchung zu stornieren. Angeblich bekommen wir eine Übernachtung erstattet. Daran glauben wir nicht. Von Ortsansässigen haben wir erfahren, dass das übliche Praxis ist. Heute kam noch eine französische Familie, diese scheint ähnliche Probleme zu haben. Zusammengefasst ist das Betrug. Bei Widerspruch wird mit Storno gedroht. Sehr unangenehm, wir reisen mit Kindern und melden wir uns deshalb erst jetzt. Wir haben Sorge, dass der Vermieter uns aus der Unterkunft schmeißt, wenn er von unserer Kritik erfährt. Die Unterkunft ist in schlechtem Zustand: Kühlschrank defekt, kaum Geschirr (insgesamt vier Teller, Tassen, ein Topf), keine Geschirrhandtücher. Elektrik fehlerhaft, Offene Kabel hängen aus den Wänden, Toilettenbrille kaputt, allgemein wirkt die Unterkunft heruntergekommen. Die Treppengeländer der Außentreppe ist kaputt, das ist lebensgefährlich. Das gilt für beide Unterkünfte die wir kennen lernen mussten. Bitte prüfen sie, welche Vermieter sie in ihre Plattform aufnehmen. Wir bitten um Rückmeldung und erwägen rechtliche Schritte.
