We were a trio - two grandparents and a pre-teen grandson. The house was lovely; very clean and generally well-equipped. The setting is beautiful and the wider area is well worth a visit. (We visited Brielle and Maarssluit.) The steep open staircase was a bit of a challenge for the mature members of the party, but we rose (sorry!) to the occasion and it would be churlish to let this affect our overall rating. We took our own bed linen and towels, some toilet rolls and a nutcracker: we should have taken condiments. Oh, and handwash for the loos! There is a small shopping centre ten minutes away in nearby Zuidland. Reception hours are limited, so check the opening times. The staff are welcoming and helpful. Excellent Dutch bikes are available for hire at reasonable rates and we wish we hadn't left it to the last day! (Ask for the cycling map.) Neighbours are mostly Dutch, so it goes without saying that they are friendly and speak excellent English, although our attempts to speak Dutch were appreciated. The ultimate test question is 'Would we go again?'. We are already considering taking other grandchildren, so that's a definite 'Yes!!'
