A drive through the mountains

Anyone who believes our neighbouring country is boring, is wrong. Germany is very popular among tourists and rightly so. As the country has a lot to offer, it is a perfect destination for both young and old. And because of the short driving distance, you'll be there in no time!

But it is not only because of the short distance that a holiday here is ideal. During a car holiday in Germany, you will drive through the most beautiful nature reserves, along vast lakes, and through the many authentic wine villages that the country has to offer. Several beautiful routes will take you right through the country. And the varied landscape offers you with a feast for your eyes! An advantage of a holiday by car is that you can easily pull the car to the side. Thus, you will discover the many special places in Germany, and then get back in your car. On the way, you can enjoy a typical German Kirschtorte on one of the many terraces you will encounter. If you are on your way to your holiday home in the south of Germany, it is certainly worthwhile to include a piece of Switzerland and Austria during your travelling.

Fairytale Germany

Germany has numerous picturesque villages, beautiful castles and centuries-old stories that make this a fairytale holiday country. Make your children's dreams come true and show them that castles from the fairy tales really exist. And quite honestly, whether or not you are a fan of all those fairy tales, the buildings themselves are breathtaking!

"Once upon a time..." is an opening line often used by the Brothers Grimm in this holiday region. This is because this couple have written many famous fairy tales and were born in Hanau, Germany. Today, this place is known as the starting point of the 'Deutsche Märchenstraβe'. This fairy tale route is 600 kilometres long and runs along the fairy tale decor from which the Grimm brothers drew their inspiration. You will pass by the Black Forest of Hans and Gretel, you will discover the castle of Cinderella and Kassel, the capital of the fairytale route. But you will also encounter the most beautiful fairytale castles off this route. In the south of Germany, you will find the amazing Neuschwanstein Castle. Moyland, Schwerin, Hohenzollern and Lichtenstein. These are just a few beautiful examples of the many castles in Germany. Listen to the fairy tales and imagine you're a member of the royal family for a while.

Discover Germany in every season

Thanks to the short distance, Germany is good for short trips, city trips and even longer holidays. But Germany is also a popular destination for a skiing holiday. How about a weekend in Winterberg or Willingen? Germany is a versatile destination!

From a city break to an adventurous holiday, Germany is an ideal holiday destination for both young and old. With beautiful cities like Berlin, Hamburg or Munich, a summer holiday in Germany is a good place to be. Are you more of an adventurous person who likes a challenge? Walk numerous adventurous routes, reaching the highest peaks and enjoying breathtaking views. And what makes your holiday complete is a holiday home on a lake! So you will wake up in peace and quiet where you can enjoy a breakfast in the sun with a view over the water. And just as you can enjoy a glass of wine along the Moselle in summer, in winter you can ski from the mountains at full speed. Winterberg, Ettelsberg, Am Feldberg and Oberstaufen are just a few examples of the famous ski areas in Germany. You will find slopes for beginners, but advanced skiers can also enjoy the miles of slopes. Just a small tip, if you go to Germany by car in the winter, make sure that you have winter tyres.
