Tautavel is a beautiful village in the north-east of the Pyrénées-Orientales, a little away from the world, at the bottom of a narrow valley.

However, it is known worldwide, because it is here that the oldest European in history was found. Consequently, a large archaeological museum can be visited on site, as well as a cave, and at the top, a castle and the Torre del Far, "the sentinel of Roussillon".

Stroll through the streets and relax in the shade of the plane trees. Further on, don't miss a visit to the narrow Gorges de Gouleyrous, impressive with the gray color of the rocks and their rounded shapes, hollowed out by the current.
