Brabant

Discover the region of Flemish Brabant from our holiday homes - divided into the areas of ‘Groene Gordel’ and of ‘Hageland’ – will surprise you with its hilly scenery, rolling fields, pastures, woods, orchards, and vineyards, charming villages and castles.

Cottages in the Louvain region

Day trip from our Brabant cottages: the pleasant historic town of Louvain. The 15th century gothic town hall is well worth a visit – it is one of the most beautiful town halls in Belgium and even in Europe. Don’t forget to visit the ‘Begijnhof’ or to just relax in one of the outdoor cafes on the ‘Grote Markt’.

Take your bike and discover the surroundings of your cottage.

Brabant has many walking and cycling opportunities to offer. Hageland, the region of fruit is famous for its orchards and vineyards, and in spring you can enjoy the blossoms! Don’t forget to visit towns such as Diest, Zoutleeuw and Tienen. And, in the hilly ‘Groene Gordel’ you can walk and cycle amidst forests, fields, and castles. You will find a signposted cycle route network of 300 kilometres, between Leuven and Brussels. Many areas in Flemish Brabant have signposted footpaths. In and around the ‘Zoniënwoud’ alone, nine walks have been set out.

Cooking in your cottage or enjoying Burgundian delights elsewhere

This region offers many pleasures and delicacies, such as a number of famous local beers: Stella Artois, Hoegaarden, Grimbergen, Lambiek, Geuze or Kriek. Sample them in a little bar or on the terrace of your own holiday cottage in Brabant! Try out the fresh white wine from Hageland, with a regional speciality such as chicory or asparagus. And, last but not least, you can take the children to one of the Provincial Domains: Halve Maan, the Vinne, Huizingen, and Kessel-Lo.

Brabant holiday homes - in and near trendy Brussels!

Visit the capital Brussels. The Grand'Place (Market square) is obviously unmissable with its magnificent historical houses. There are numerous monuments and museums and gastronomy to enjoy. Explore the different neighbourhoods, such as the 'Mont des Arts' or the 'Sablon' (antiques) and have a rest in one of the green parks or the nearby Soignes forest. Art Nouveau fans can admire many houses in Brussels that are built in that style, such as the Horta Museum, Old England and the Hannon house.

Brussels is also a fashion and design city. Here are some of the districts that are interesting for shopaholics: Dansaert (avant-garde designers, stylists, jewellery), the Sablon (antiques and art galleries), the prestigious covered St Hubert galleries , the Avenue Louise and Avenue de Waterloo, where fashion designers like Chanel and Dior have their outlets.
